Well… I can say what this isn’t pretty quickly. This isn’t a Halloween printable paper doll. I wanted it to be, but sometimes life doesn’t cooperate.
Instead of a Halloween printable paper doll and her clothes, we’ve got a steampunk inspired neo-victorian Margot paper doll and her clothes. I think the paper doll is just as nice as something more themeatic, but it always seems to me like I should try to follow the seasons on the blog, even though I rarely succeed.
This year nothing really Halloween oriented has happened on the blog. I do hope to get a vampire Pixie paper doll I drew an embarrassingly long time ago finally finished and posted, but the truth is that September was such an insane month for me (wedding & flooded apartment) that I didn’t get any of my Halloween plans finished.
However, if you want a Halloween Marisole Monday & Friends paper doll, I have done several.. I did a vampire one year, a Gothic Mia paper doll, and then a Marisole with costumes. Last year, I teamed up with Liana, Toria and Boots and we created a collaborative paper doll and clothes.
That paper doll collaboration was so much fun that I keep telling myself I’ll get up the energy to organize another one. I just haven’t seemed to have the time. Hmm… this post got a bit more whiny than it started. I do apologize.
Still… part of me is kicking myself for not finishing the flower fairy paper doll I was working on. I’ve had a lot of requests for that and I wanted to have it done for Halloween.

And you might have noticed a new format with this post. It’s something I’m trying out, because I was feeling like the posts on the first page of the blog were all getting a little bit too long. I’m not sure I am going to stick with it. As always, I’d love to hear what you think. Speaking of what people think… there’s a new poll in the sidebar.
Ya know, I want more pixies. Don’t ask why. I don’t know.

Pixies are delightful. There will be a new one up on Halloween.
what happened to fashion doll Fridays? Poor Flora. My flora needs more clothes.

Honestly? I got tired of drawing regency clothing. Flora and Florence are both likely to remain un-updated for the foreseeable future. Fashion Doll Fridays worked a lot better when I wasn’t working full time. I’d like to start a new set of them, but I don’t know if I can commit to the time it takes to do the research to draw historically accurate dresses.
Aww man. I guess I could draw Flora some dresses…. Although I’m not good at ruffles or layers. And lots of regency clothes have those. Boo-Hoo. And if you want the research, I would recommend real plastic dolls. That’s what I do.

I like the new format. The little teaser is really cute. I also really like the name for today’s doll.
Thanks for all your lovely paper dolls. I just want you to know how much I appreciate them.
Thanks Kat. I’m really like the teaser too… we’ll see if I stick with it. Considering the number of times the blog’s format has changed, it is not as though it’s a life commitment for anything.
tomorrow I have gymnastics. The bad part is we have to dress up in Halloween costumes but I have no idea what I can dress up as! Please give me suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t know what to tell you, Elizabeth. I’m pretty bad at coming up with costumes.
oh noooooooo ~ teasers and cutlines suck soooo hard! this seems to be a trend in blogging and online news and it’s horrendous!
; o (
all that crabbiness aside, i love this doll!
Oh, Boots. I knew I could rely on you for an honest response. 🙂
Yeah, I kinda agree with you. I’m trying it as an experiment… We’ll see if it does what I think it might.
There’s an interesting line between… Darn this post is awkwardly long… and… Darn I hate this cut line… And I’m still working to figure out what that line is.
Needless to say, I promise my experiment might not last. (If for no other reason and making little teaser images is more work and I tend towards laziness.)
my philosophy is: if a reader is too lazy or attention-deficit to read a long article or post, hiding it behind a cut just exacerbates that. for everyone else who wants the content without having to dig for it, it’s just irritating.
an open buffet is much more appealing than a “take your chances and see what you get” approach. i like to know there’s meat with the potatoes without having to take the lid off the pot (so to speak).
: D
You know, you should do some paper dolls with different coloured streaks in her hair… (example) I did Beneath the Waves with blue stripes in her blond hair, and I did Vivid Victoriana with green stripes in her brown hair… 🙂
love your clothes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in a good way
that was my sister. Do you have a sister?
