Kiri Alex
Kiri Alex chose to color various black and white paper dolls and mounted them to magnets. She writes that they don’t wear shoes, because she hardly ever wears shoes, which is as good a reason as any I can think of.
Lisa Jo Benzer
Lisa Jo Benzer used her Photoshop skills to remove the color from some of the paper dolls and then combined various elements to make images to color. Her blog is Spirit Word Art.
Meredith
Meredith colored the Valentine’s day paper dolls. I think they came out quite cute.
Meredith has also colors the 1940s vintage set and my set Gypsy Moon, as well as some beautiful designs of her own, which were a real treat to see.
LH Boyd
LH Boyd recolored the mermaid marisole set beautifully as a lovely blond. Since she sent me the PDF file, I can share it here at the right size for printing.
Melinda
Melinda is a sophmore at Seattle University. She’s recolored Beneath the Waves, created her own leprechaun set from pieces of other paper doll sets, recolored Fabulous Fairy in purples and Sweet and Saucy twice.
Tamara Simon
Tamara is from Hungary and her outfits for the Pixies are mostly based on fashion magazines and drawn with colored pencils, so they can be shaded.
Jill C.
Jill C. colored the Baton Twirling majorette paper doll in the colors of the band her husband directs- Green and White. I think that is just an inspired use of that paper doll.
Florence
Florence, aged 9, is from Bristol, England. She sent me this wonderful picture of a recolored version of one of the dresses from Spring has Sprung being worn by the vampire paper doll Undead Beauty. A very stylish undead paper doll, I think.
Have some art of your own, you’d like to see up here? Sent it to me.
