I am super excited to be making this announcement. Julie, of Paper Doll School, and I are hosting a paper doll round robin. We have our model drawn thanks to Julie, but she desperately needs gowns to wear to the Halloween Masquerade Ball!
Won’t you help her?
How this Works
Step 1: Download the Paper Doll PDF File
Step 2: Print the file at Full Size or Open the file with your favorite graphics editor.
Step 3: Draw a fantastic masquerade gown. It can be in color or black and white. No judgement here. Just create something that inspires you.
Step 4. Save or scan your gown at 300 dpi as a JPG or PNG. (This part is important to I can make sure all the gowns are high quality for the finished set.)
Step 4: Email your gown to me at paperthinpersonas@gmail.com or Julie at jamatthews
Step 5: Wait until the 31st of October when Julie and I will post the finished gowns and the doll, all ready to attend the Masquerade Ball!
See? That isn’t so hard.
We hope lots of people will come play with us and join in the fun, so please consider creating a gown for our Lady of the ball. 🙂
If you have any questions, please just ask in a comment. This is going to be so much fun.
HELP!!! I just get an error message when I click on the link to download the paper doll!
Should be working now. 🙂
Yep! Works fine now. 🙂
I want to do this! Maybe a Steampunk witch!
I drew a cat costume. Even made a wig with ears, stockings, a dress I like (with orange piping) and a tail. I can’t wait to send it to you and Julie.
I’d participate in this, but I’m afraid drawing isn’t really my strong point. 🙁
Guess I’ll just download the set at the end of the month!
Hmm. how do you draw a dress on the internet? Could I just print the doll, draw a dress for her, send a picture of it to you, and then you recreate it? I’m afraid computer drawing is a weak link in my chain of skills.
You can draw a dress and then scan it and email it along. However, I won’t be able to “recreate” anyone’s contribution.
I’ve made a few already and I’m going to try to pick the one I like the best. Unfortunately I love my first wig but the dress is … wonky? … and none of the other outfits work with that wig. Oops.
Do you want us to put the tabs on or would you prefer to do it so they are more uniform in size/placement? (I always feel like I put them in the wrong spots.)
I am actually afraid to try to draw a dress, can I copy and edit one online? not from the site?
well, hair will be from the site
We’re not going to police people’s submissions, so you should do whatever speaks to you. There are some wonderful paper dolls created from photos found around the internet and vintage sources. So, do what speaks to you.
