Spirit of the North: Printable Paper Doll

We still haven’t had much snow here, but I don’t mind. I’m able to walk home from work which is just about a mile and a half and it’s a nice walk to do when the weather isn’t too cold. I’m dreading when it gets colder and I’ll have to decide between wait ten minutes for the bus or walking 25 minutes in the cold. It’s a hard call and depending on how horrid it is, I usually decide right after work.

I’ve been playing around with color pallets a lot lately. I realized, I’d never done a sort of Norse/Anglo-Saxon/Medieval fantasy paper doll in a pale color scheme. Somehow that lead to this and then the idea of giving the paper doll blue skin came to me last minute. Once the paper doll was fully colored, I knew she had to be some sort of other worldly winter fairy or something. She might be smiling, but I get the feeling she might be very dangerous. Not someone you’d want to cross.

And, in case I haven’t mentioned it or you haven’t noticed, there’s a poll. Feel free to vote or tell me what you think in a comment.

  1. Heh, this reminds me of skyrim. Which is basically about Norse people (they call them “Nords”). My fiance has been playing it a lot and I like to watch him play his video games. She could be one of the elves, they have some who have weird blue skin.

  2. a wintery paper doll! yay!

winter has been an almost total loss so far this year and i am so bummed out. my spirits are definitely raised to see such a chilly looking emissary from the north.

i especially like the little details on the pants.

    : D

  3. I love the colours you used on this, at the moment it’s really hot where I live so I like how cool this looks.

  4. I voted for more male paperdolls. Maybe get a guy for Marisole to go out with when she dresses up all fancy. Or a prince for her to rescue. Hehe =)

  5. I love all the necklaces and jewelry in this set. Very pretty. She looks like she could be one of the frost giants from Norse myths.

  6. It reminds me of the ice people from the movie Thor. That’s just what I thought instantly when I saw her. She is very pretty, and I agree with you–she could be dangerous! =D Well done!

  7. I know this set is older, but maybe you could do a few others to go with this, like a spirit for each direction. North is water, south could be air, west earth and east could be fire. Or whichever you want. Might even be something to do for Halloween.

    • That’s a neat idea, Omi Lynn. Spirit of the North remains one of my favorite sets. 🙂 And there will be a… sequel of sorts soon.
