What Data Is Collected, Why, Where and For How Long

Paper Thin Personas collects data as needed to run and operate the blog, paperthinpersonas.com. It collects data as needed for website analytics, traffic optimization and distribution, user demographics and security. While it does not share User’s personal data or sell it directly, some of the services used on this site (such as Google Analytics) may use this data to contextualize and personalize the ads on its own advertising network. To opt out of Google Analytics, please see their browser plugin.

Users can turn off the use of cookies at anytime by changing their specific browser settings.

User’s data may be shared with plugins for analytics, to improve user experiences, and security purposes (Spam filtering and such), but Paper Thin Personas will never sell user data, or use it for direct marketing without consent, and keeps information as secure as possible.

Depending on the User’s location, data transfers may involve transferring the User’s Data to a country other than their own.

Personal Data shall be processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose they have been collected for.

Email List

When User’s opt into the email subscription list, their data will never be sold to outside vendors. The purpose of the list is to inform Users of updates to the blog and they may unsubscribe by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or by emailing me directly at paperthinpersonas(at)gmail(dot)com.

COPPA Complinance

As per Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Paper Thin Personas is a mixed-age site whose content is not intended specifically for children under the age of 13. Recognizing, however, that paper dolls do appeal to children, should the Owner become aware that a child under the age of 13 has posted comments, identifying information (such an an email and/or last name) will be removed from the site per the FCC guidelines.

If a the Legal Guardian of a User under the age of 13 requires that their dependent’s data be deleted, please contact Paper Thin Personas directly at paperthinpersonas(at)gmail(dot)com.

Requesting Your Data and Asking for Your Data to be Deleted

A user of Paper Thin Personas has the right to request their data be deleted and has the right to view their data. Please use the Data Access Request form to do request data and then follow up with Paper Thin Personas about which data you would like deleted. Requests may take several weeks to process, as the process is manual at this juncture.

Who Runs this Site? And How to Contact them

Paper Thin Personas is run by Rachel Cohen with erratic interference from her cat, Dewey. She can be contacted at paperthinpersonas(at)gmail(dot)com and since she is “one woman show” asks for your understanding and patience when she sometimes is slow to respond. Also, she is not entirely comfortable writing about herself in third person.
