I try to be balanced in paper dolls. I want to have a variety of styles, a variety of skin tones, a variety of hair styles, a variety of genders (okay, maybe not the last one so much…), but I haven’t done a paper doll with glasses in a while.

Recently, I have been watching a lot of Black Adder, particularly Black Adder Goes Forth, which I have never seen before. I’m really enjoying it, though I don’t know if that has anything to do with today’s paper doll creation, actually, I expect it doesn’t, but it has allowed me to draw some paper dolls.

Kalisha’s color scheme was inspired by flowers and sunsets- warm soft tones. I love pale grey trousers which perhaps explains why they show up so often in my paper dolls (also in my closet).

  1. That’s my husband’s favorite Blackadder 🙂 We watch the Christmas special every year. Brilliant stuff!

And the colors in this doll are great! You color choices are always terrific and have inspired me to be more colorful in my own dolls….

  3. This color scheme reminds me of something sweet, like candy or sugar cookies. I love her glasses and I think it’s great when you do paper dolls with glasses.

And Blackadder rocks. 🙂 It’s my fave.

  4. The short sleeve shirt has me thinking of Africa for some reason.

And I just looked through your links page, but it said A Time for Paper Dolls… was no longer online.

  5. Hmm… You seem to be right Omi Lynn. It was there not long ago… but sometimes these things happen. I will give it a few days and then remove the link. Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

I’m glad I inspired your Julie. Color is Fun! (I tell myself this a lot…)

Joanne- I post new contests once in a while (not terribly often), when I do than it will say in the contest post how to enter the contest. It usually means writing a comment.

  6. I am having such fun coloring these. I just finished Kalisha and posted her to SketchClub, with a referral back to you (she’s at http://app.sketchclub.com/sketch/10064681 in case you’re interested/curious; I’ve colored something like a dozen Pixies in the last few days). Any chance of a middle-aged Pixie with glasses dressed for a science fiction convention? She should have jeans, tshirts with geeky sayings/pictures, a cool corset, and something utterly fantabulous for evening wear (or just an awesome hall costume). A stuffed dragon or stuffed Cthulhu would be great accessories, and of course a Smartphone.
